World History
In this class we will make history alive with units on Ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Asia in the first half of the year. Then we will study the Middle Ages in Europe, Asia, and Africa and the Renaissance and Reformation. Our last unit will be about global awareness- we will study global issues and sustainable solutions. During this unit we will read Three Cups of Tea- the incredible story of an American who struggled to create schools in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Our service project for this school year will support the Central Asia Institute-an organization that promotes peace through creating schools in Asia. We will incorporate technology and project learning throughout the year and will also infuse geography, economics, world religions, and current events into our classes.
